Q: Can the photos be posted online while I'm on honeymoon so I can check them out from Paris/my cruise ship?

A: By special arrangement, yes!

Q: Can I share the online gallery with my friends?

A: That's the whole idea! Yes, if you share your login and password, anyone else can use the site too.

Q: How long do you keep the photos online?

A: Usually at least two years, and after that we'll ask you if you're still using the site. We have almost unlimited web space and network resources.

Q: How long does it take to get my printed proof photos back?

A: That depends on our current workload, but we do them as fast as we can without sacrificing quality. It generally takes anywhere from 1-3 weeks.

Q: How long does it take to create my custom album?

A: It varies depending on the timing and the complexity, but usually around 1 month from when we get your order.

Q: I'd love to have my album back to share with family over the holiday season / get printing for gifts, etc. How early should I order?

A: The holidays are a very busy time for us and our suppliers. We simply need your order as early as you can manage. It is usually wise to add an extra couple of weeks over normal turnaround times. Last minute orders are almost never possible, sorry.

Q: What is the exact coverage which is offered with the packages?

A: The standard package will typically cover either of these scenarios:
1. Either the bride or the groom pre-wedding, the ceremony, a formal portrait session and just the beginning of the party
OR
2. The ceremony, the formals and more time photographing at the reception.

The extended coverage package usually covers the whole day, including getting ready, the ceremony, the formals and a longer portion of the reception. It can also sometimes allow dual coverage of both bride and groom before the ceremony.

Still not sure? We're happy to advise you on package selection if you contact us.

Q: How many photos will you take?

A: Lots and lots. Depending on the package, it typically ranges from 400-1000 unique captured shots. Around 6-800 is typical for 6 hour coverage and 4-600 is typical from 4 hour coverage. After the initial photography, we will edit the collection, removing all the blinks and any obvious duplication, so you can usually expect us to present around 3-400 different final images.

Q: Do you bring more than one camera?

A: Backup camera, backup memory cards/film, backup lenses, backup lights, backup flash gear. Always. Paranoid-level security!

Q: Are you insured?

A: Fully insured.

Q: How long have you been shooting weddings?

A: Weddings since 1999.

Q: Are you a full-time photographer?

A: I operate a commercial photography studio full-time and do nothing else professionally except photography. I've been a full-time photographer since the studio opened in the spring of 2001. I've been doing professional photography since 1998. My primary area is people photography: weddings, corporate, entertainment and portraiture. Basically, I make people look good.

Q: If you shoot my wedding dinner reception, do I need to feed you?

A: We are not really wedding guests, we're there to work -- so we don't expect to be listed on your seating plan or to get a meal. However for best photographic results on those longer shoots, we generally appreciate any generous arrangements you can make to feed us. If you decide to feed us but are worried about seamless coverage, we can try to eat in alternating shifts, so you always can expect to have some sort of photographic coverage. We also don't mind eating in a separate area. We often try to use the meal time to back up files and change batteries etc.

Q: Is it you who is going to shoot my wedding, or another photographer?

A: Luke Mattar is your photographer, for the whole day. We limit the bookings to only one wedding per calendar day.

Q: Do you have any references available?

A: Yes, we are more than happy to share recent references.

Q: Is there a contract to sign?

A: Yes, there's always a written contract.

Q: What is required to book a wedding?

A: You will need a signed contract and a deposit to book a wedding.

Q: How will you be dressed?

A: Formally, unless you give other instructions. Which usually means with a full suit, shirt and tie, unless something else is more appropriate in your case.

Q: Can I see some printed samples?

A: Yes, we have printed and digital samples available. Viewings are possible by appointment. We have a printed collection of "best shots", and can also show some complete weddings as well as some examples of all the different wedding products.

Q: Do you visit the location before the wedding?

A: Usually a special visit to the photo location is made for every new location we don't yet know.

Q: Do you come to the rehearsal?

A: We will try to attend the rehearsal if scheduling permits. If we can come, we will generally take extra photos too.

Q: When should I book?

A: We recommend booking 8-12 months in advance.

Q: Do you like shooting weddings?

A: Yes, very much. It's a tremendous feeling to witness such a beautiful occasion to and to feel that what you produce can really affect and move people. It's an honour.

Q: Oh, I'm disappointed. You're already booked for my date. What next from here?

A: We maintain a list of wedding photographers, and we're happy to try and serve as a resource to help you locate someone who is available, even if we are not.

Q: I'm desperate, can you help me find another vendor such as a florist or caterer?

A: We have seen a lot of other service providers which has given us an idea, but at this time we don't really have a formal referral file for anything except photographers. . .but no matter what, we'll try to help.

Back to the beginning.
