Extras, Makeup and Hair

In terms of some extras/options, makeup and hair people can be brought out to the studio too. Makeup and hair adds an extra charge, per stylist. For on-location styling here at the studio, Sunday afternoons tend to work best. In terms of convenience for bookings but on any other day, you can generally set it up to visit hair or makeup people at their studio first and come here afterwards for the photography, as two separate bookings. I'm happy to help arrange those details or to provide recommendations.

Consultation

If you want to bring in any favorite photos (magazines, old shots, personal snapshots where you look good, etc) we can also try to copy them. You're welcome to have a quick consultation a couple of days before the shoot to try and plan things out, if that interests you.

The Session, What it's Like, What's Included

We generally can cover anywhere up to 3-6 different looks in the session, so you can do any makeup/hair/clothing changes as much as you feel you might want to. I make sure to try to meet all the potential image requirements for whatever you're doing. You're welcome to experiment with formal and casual looks and poses.

For example, a musician, a model, an actor, or a realtor can often use different looks, different croppings for things like posters, programmes, print ads, business cards, printed literature, websites etc. We always try to get every option covered so that you have all your potential needs met until you change your look.

Included in the session fee is whatever level of photoshop/retouching as you desire, and any setup for the printing we do. We also do put all the shots online and on CD.

The session is all-digital, which means you'll get to see the results right away and you can give feedback and we can change anything you want -- as we go.

There's no set hard time limit or predetermined number of poses, but to help in terms of planning, for most people it generally takes at least an hour or more to get through all the sitting, to perfect the pose and expression and look over the photos. Rush sessions are available for those pressed for time.

We often employ a special "chromakey backdrop" which allows us to do all kinds of different backgrounds digitally. That gives you a lot of creative options after the initial shooting (for colour images). You can easily experiment with some multiple different ideas and different looks from any given pose you are happy with, you're not stuck with whatever background happened to be captured in the shot where you like your pose or expression!

The chromakey can be used to match your outfit, your eye colour, or your business logo, or any other background treatment you need.

Post-Production, Photoshop, Prints

Photos from your session are placed online in our password protected website, where you can study and share them.

After the shooting, the retouching/setup stages can happen collaboratively over several days using the website or email -- we make edits, you check the updates online and give feedback, repeat until you're happy.

Finished, retouched files do usually take several days to achieve, thus the CD including the edits generally takes a couple of days to have ready. We can normally retouch one best photo for while you watch, if you need to get a finished product in a rush.

Printing prices and timelines can change. Please inquire for the latest rates.
